Transient Aphasia

Little patch of fuzz
in the corner of your eye.
Is it really there?

Flashes of colour;
faces merge with the background.
Why can I not read?

Phantom sensations.
Sentence jumbled when spoken.
Brain has turned to mush.

Zig-Zags. Arcs. Static.
This, my new reality.
Before the pain hits.

*reaches for the drugs*
Another migraine to add
to my health journal.
