A Case of Identity by Arthur Conan Doyle

A Case of Identity (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, #3)A Case of Identity by Arthur Conan Doyle

Wow. Mr Windibank really is a complete and total… “piss pot” (Ref: BBC Sherlock!)
Poor Miss Mary Sutherland. Taken for a ride, and cheated out of happiness just for her money. Sherlock is right when he says:

“There’s a cold-blooded scoundrel! That fellow will rise from crime to crime until he does something very bad, and ends on a gallows.”

How often, in real life, have larger crimes stemmed from small and innocuous beginnings?

A quickie-case solved without Sherlock even having to leave his front door. Simple observation and cross-referencing is the key here.
